At the beginning of the summer, the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn took to social media to bust myths and create further understanding within the community. Hitting 10K views in a very short time, the series has been met with deep appreciation and has led to eye opening conversations. Comments from FC parents, alumni and general community members have flooded the inbox:

Friendship Circle of Brooklyn is always looking to create positive change for the Special Needs population. The more awareness there is, the more understanding everyone can be.

Glad to see the community coming together
Everyone benefits from inclusivity and sensitivity. Example: the more styles of learning more incorporated into a class the better everyone learns. Some kids NEED visuals (DS, ASD).
I had no idea
A playground is for all children. A typical child can explore the bigger/different swing as well. My kid knows it is for children who can’t sit in a typical swing, however I give him the freedom to swing in it too. And then I tell him to choose a different area to play in next. He does not have to leave the swing empty in case a child with special needs comes by. He can play on it too and then move on to play elsewhere. Or those swings that hold wheelchairs.
