In the wake of the sudden and tragic death of Hindi Krinsky-Kanarfogel, a 32 year-old teacher and mother of five, thousands of donors have already contributed to a fund to support the family. Now, with the campaign gaining attention, a new wave of supporters are committing matching dollars to continue to build momentum to reach the campaign’s $1 million goal.
Three donors, who wish to remain anonymous, have pooled their resources and committed to a $30,000 match. Donations made through the Charidy platform will now be doubled up to that point, effectively making that $30,000 contribution into $60,000.
The fund seeks to provide solace and support for Krinsky-Kanarfogel’s grieving husband and children, ensuring they will have the financial security necessary to navigate their new reality. An oversight committee has been assembled to be responsible for all funds raised during this campaign; members include Rabbi Moshe Pinson, Yoni Raskin, Rabbi Moshe Greenwald, Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, and Yali Margalit. The funds will be overseen by a wealth manager to ensure their appropriate use for the family.
All donations made through the campaign are tax-deductible. Funds from the previous GoFundMe campaign will be rolled into the Charidy campaign.
Contributions ranging from $4 to $400 or more have been rolling in since the campaign’s launch over this week, putting the campaign ever closer to the the $1 million goal. Funds will continue to be accepted through the end of the week.
