A veteran Chabad Shliach in France was honored by the authorities for his chaplaincy services to Jewish prisoners.
Rabbi Yosef Y. Labkowski, Director of Beth Habad of Marseille was given a medal of honor at a ceremony this past week.
Labkowski and his wife arrived 30 years ago to the 2nd most populous French city as well as the oldest city in France.
They have founded schools and other educational institutions for boys and girls, in addition to a Shul and a Mikvah.
Police Commander of South France said: “Rabbi Labkowski serves as a model for excellence and dedication without limits.”
