Rabbi Gedalya Shemtov, Director of the Shluchim Office, visited this week the Yeshiva Meorot Chabad in Jerusalem which operates under his auspices.
He met with the staff, the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Uri Ganson, and the director Rabbi Chaim Greenberg.
Meorot, an English speaking institution, was founded for post-high school boys who wish to expand their Judaic studies.
“We have received very warm responses from Shluchim worldwide,” New York-based Shemtov said.
“Many communities don’t have a local Lubavitch Yeshiva and this has given a solution.”

rabbi shem tov, keep up your great work. sorry i missed you in bat ayin.
another name??
if you are speaking about CRC then get your story straight before you talk. that program was for a different crowd, this is for boys that come from a yeshivah heigh school backround and may want to go to collage.
and the director of CRC was the very same R. Chaim Greenberg of Meorot.
if you are speaking about a different yeshivah then kindly disregard this comment
im confused who this yeshiva is actually for. is it for good chassidishe bochurim that were just never able to attend a chabad yeshiva before because of where they lived or is it for boys that attended a chabad yeshiva but dont fit into the regular chabad yeshiva system? bec there is definetly a need for a chabad yeshiva in israel for boys that are good boys who have learnt niglah there whole life really well and used to having breaks like playing basketball but are beginners when it comes to chassidus but want to grow and learn
its a printed story i belive in yimie berishies
The yeshiva existed extremely successfully for years under a different name. They – the central offices – wanted a program in their name and bought them out. Let’s not fool anyone here.
The main work has been done by the like of Rabbi Yosef Malkin and other giants…
The rosh yeshivos in israel wear kapotos
Can you provide a source for that?
the rebbe wanted klei kodesh to wear a kapote all week
Not something Lubavitch should be proud of….
feh af azah vort
if our shluchim dress like businessmen, at least our roshei yeshivos should dress like chassidim.
What’s the deal with everyone wearing kapota’s all the time lately? It’s real confusing when your getting into your car and see a guy in a Kapota and think oops, it must be Shabbos. It’s like we suddenly have tons of Rebbelach in Lubavitch. Boro Park watch out!
