Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz, Director of Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers, celebrated his 50th birthday with his community, local Shluchim and family.
The celebration was attended by the Southwest Florida Jewish Community where people in the community were treated with a lavish, upscale, gourmet Kosher dinner of sushi, carving station, beef sliders, pasta, salads and full open bar.
Distinguished community members shared personal memories of the way Rabbi Minkowicz touched their lives in a meaningful way, inspired them in their growth and truly nice experiences they had.
Local Shluchim there to celebrate were Rabbi Mendy and Luba Greenberg of Chabad of Bonita Springs, Rabbi Simon and Sheina Jacobson of Chabad of Charlotte County, Rabbi Yossi Labkowski of Chabad of Cape Coral, and Rabbi Fishel Zaklos of Chabad of Naples.
Minkowicz’s parents Rabbi Leima and Shoshana Minkowicz of Crown Heights, siblings Rabbi Hirsh Minkowicz, Mrs. Gitty Rosenfeld, Mrs. Chaya Abelsky, Mrs. Chana Feigenson and Mrs. Rochie Lieberman flew in and shared personal memories with the community.
His children Zeldie and Nachmi Rosenberg (and grandson Yoel), Chana and Mendy Donin, Chaya Mushka Minkowicz and Peretz Meir Simcha Minkowicz were the ones that planned the party and shared beautiful experiences.
As is customary in Chabad to recite a Chassidic discourse on a birthday, Rabbi Minkowicz reviewed a maamar of the Rebbe which points out that the greatest blessings in the Torah were given from Yitzchok to Yaakov (both happen to be Minkowicz’s first names).

To both You and Nechama Dina and family. You know me from your father in laws house.in NY, I am unfortunately stuck in the very soon to be very cold upper midwest You bring even more warmth to Florida. I look forward to your imput each motzei Shabbos. It helps to aid my otherwise devoid of Yiddishkheit Shabbos experience each week. I need all the Jewish exposure I can get from outside as there is very little here. An inspiration! After a Shabbos spent alone, I at least get a melave malka!
MAZELTOV. I know Rabbi Minkowicz as a most devoted Father. His daughter was in my summer program, his caring, his interest, his devotion is above and beyond any parent . Hub iddishen in chssidishen nachas!!
Looks like a beautiful event – Revealed good for all with Moshiach NOW.
Much continued success with all your great work
