Not only does Mazel Day School bring children and families closer to yiddishkeit, but they stress derech eretz and how to be good, kind, and considerate people, in the hope that the students will have the proper skills and feelings to make a positive difference in the world when they get older.

In addition, the staff treat each child as individuals, making sure all his/her needs are met academically/ socially/ and emotionally.

Please donate to this worthy cause.

this school was the best-run child-centered school I have ever taught at in my many years of teaching. PLEASE donate to help us continue with the important kiruv work done at this school. Every rosh chodesh rally, every lesson, every brocha brings each child and their parents and their extended family closer to Yiddishkeit. The school is one big family. Please help us rebuild this extraordinary school. Please please donate what you can. Every penny goes towards repairing the school

Was there a way to perhaps more securely store the Torahs? Like taking them to someone’s home? Wrapping them in water proof materials? I know the safe was 8ft high but the warning was for flooding up to 11 feet.

There is no point in talking about that now, after the fact. We can’t change what has happened. May Hashem bless everyone to come out stronger from this experience.

Rabbi and Rebitzen Okunof are the most beautifull people in our community.

They are the backbone of our community. They run the only Jewish school in all of South Brooklyn/Coney Island.

May G-D bless them with only good.

IY”H the achdus this will bring out in your community will put you on a completely different madreiga. May your rebuilding be swift, complete and full of revealed good to the extent that you won’t even have to ask “Why did this happen to us?” Only brochos and besoros tovos.

Why didn’t they secure the Sifrei Torah beforehand. We all knew the hurricane was coming. No excuse for this.
