A fire broke out at the home of the Shluchim to Dimona, Israel, Rabbi Yisrael and Nava Gellis on Wednesday.
During the night, flames and clouds of smoke filled the house, probably due to an electrical short circuit.
Miraculously, no one was injured, even though some of the children had to be rescued from their beds by firefighters, who arrived at the scene when the house was already engulfed in smoke and flames.
For now, the family will have to stay elsewhere, as their home has been destroyed.
Of immediate concern to the Shluchim is what they will do for the Purim holiday, as they were set to prepare a Purim meal for over 100 people.
This is in addition to coordinating dozens of volunteers who visit local army bases and the nearby Dimona nuclear plant, to read the megillah and bring Purim cheer to the soldiers.
tenants should get there own smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, just a few dollars , and a screw to connect it to the ceiling, also tenants should have there own fire insurance, land lords have insurance for there house, which means the walls and there own property, but not the tenants. I had a fire and my tenants thought they were covered…. not so
Smoke Detectors saved my kids. We had a fire and I was home myself with my kids.. B|”h for the smoke alarm we all run out – our house was not liveable but everyone is well. A smoke decector only cost about $10. It also helped minimized the damage as we were aware immediately before we even smelled smoke

What are you talking about?
And for goodness’ sake, if we did, you should’ve been quiet about it!
to #5 r basements legal 4 rentals
The landlord has to give you a smoke drtector, but you have to pay for its cost.
It’s the landlords responsibility to get you smoke detectors! Ask him to get you one- they really do save lives!
i live in a basement in ch and we don’t have any smoke detectors!!
The fact that firefighters had to rescue children from their beds means it was unlikely there were working smoking detectors in the home. BH everyone got out alive. Smoke kills people before the flames.
Check your smoke detectors twice a year: before Pesach and before Tishrei or when you change the clocks. One on every floor of the house and it is recommended that there should be one in every bedroom.
how do we donate?
