A fire broke out in a vacant apartment in Ayers Court apartment complex in Teaneck, NJ, on Wednesday, April 29, at around 4:00 pm.
The apartment next door, occupied by a newly married Chabad couple, Ari and Eliana Kasowitz (Hendler), who moved in only a few months ago, was destroyed.
Within a short time, the fire department arrived to put out the blaze. Baruch Hashem, no one was hurt.
Unfortunately, everything in their apartment was destroyed by smoke and water damage. Now, the young couple, just starting out, must start all over again.
Friends are saying that the couple needs funds to pay for beds, drawers, couch, table, chairs, clothing, seforim, general supplies and toiletries.
“Please open your hearts and give whatever you can,” friends asked.
Money can be sent to them directly via PayPal, Zelle, Cash App, Chase Quick Pay to [email protected]

That’s terrible. We can only imagine what they can be going through….
If everyone just gave one dollar it would help them tremendously to build back their lives.
May Hashem bless you both with only revealed goodness in every aspect of your lives.
Thinking of them in this trying time. Wishing you the strength to get through this time.
Something important that many couples do not know is that renters insurance policies are relatively cheap (Starting at $15 a month), and can help with fire damage, break ins, water damage and more. It is worth the investment
