From the Director of “A Light for Greytowers” and “The Heart that Sings” comes a new film, premiering this week.
“Operation: Candlelight,” an action-adventure for women and girls, will premiere on Wednesday and Thursday at the Jewish Children’s Museum in Crown Heights.
Set at Torah Academy, the film follows a group of misfit school girls who become unlikely heroes when a mysterious encounter rocks their world.
The exciting genre of action-adventure is a departure from movie musicals by director Robin Garbose.
Garbose explains that when creating this script, “I was able to draw from my years directing for the television show America’s Most Wanted.”
The film stars the girls of Kol Neshama Performing Arts Conservatory and features veteran actresses Nancy Carlin, Rivka Siegel Krinsky, and Tahlia Miller.
Operation Candlelight premieres in Brooklyn December 17 (7 pm and 9:30 pm) and December 18 (7 pm and 9:30 pm) at the Jewish Children’s Museum, 792 Eastern Parkway.
