Over 400 fathers and sons attended the first week of the Avos Ubanim Betzalel joint learning program this past Motzoei Shabbos in Crown Heights.
The excitement on the faces of the children as well as on the faces of the fathers was contagious. What better way is there to create a bond and spend quality time with one’s own child.
It took place in the 5 usual locations in the neighborhood: Frankel’s Shul 1619 President St., Aguda Shul 456 Crown St., Eliyohu Nocham 672 Lefferts St., Cong. 935-Chabad 935 Eastern Parkway and Empire Shteible 489 Empire Blvd.
This year two new locations have been made available to service as many “avos ubanim” as possible: In the basement of 770 Eastern Parkway and in Heichel Halimud Anshei Moshe at Lincoln Place between Schenectady and Utica.
Incentives and prizes galore together with inspiring divrei chizuk topped off this wonderful Motzei Shabbos experience. There are now seven different shuls where this beautiful program can be experienced.
The Avos Ubanim program is now known as Avos Ubanim Betzalel in loving memory of Reb Betzalel Jacobson OBM, dedicated by his son Yerachmiel Jacobson.
Yanky Lando you are the best!!!
My sons ( who have grown out of it) used to call it ovos and blackberry!
Thanks to Shimmy Rosenblum for making Empire Shteibel such
a beatifull Mikdash Miat. Its a michaya to daven and learn there.
Packed with sforim, beautiful new bentches and tables etc etc
Why aren’t there similar programs for moms and daughters? There are plenty of halachos that women must know and study. And dads should bond with daughters also and have learned daughters. Otherwise they will always want and prefer male children.
Can u please add 770 Montgomery fisher’s shul?
So many kids from this area it would be amazing!!
OT’s best bus driver!
Always with a smile for kids and adults.
I hope the boys that do not have a father taking them are not forgotten. Maybe teachers could make sure they have an “adoptive” father figure taking them, especially if they get ice cream afterwards!
beautifil! Hashem look down at your precious children. dont you think the time has come?
