The meeting was for Satmar. The speaker was from Lubavitch.
A wealthy group of Satmar chassidim gathered on Monday night to bid farewell to their Rebbe, R’ Aaron Teitelbaum of Monroe who is traveling to Israel for a visit.
At the invitation-only evening, some 50 donors presented their contributions that will be used to support Satmar affiliated institutions in Israel that decline government funding because of their anti-Zionist policy.
While Chabad is known for their differing approach, the event’s featured guest speaker was R’ Dudi Farkash, a Crown Heights resident who works at BFG – Brooklyn Financial Group, a financial services firm serving the Greater New York area.
The Jerusalem born Farkash spoke in the presence of the Satmar Rebbe about the unique advantage of giving Tzedaka, its spiritual and material dividends and its connection to this week’s Parshah Vayakhel.
“I have been involved for a long time in the Satmar community,” Farkash told COLlive.com about being invited to the evening in Boro Park. Following his remarks, Farkash was given a warm handshake by the Satmar Rebbe. “They said the Rebbe enjoyed the speech,” he noted.
Farkash will be a guest speaker at Passover Gateway this Pesach at the Sheraton Orlando North Hotel, under the supervision of Rabbi Sholom Ber Dubov and Rabbi Shalom Adler.

Satmar & Lubavitch should have never been apart in the first place.
