A lavish farbrengen at the Ramada hotel in central Almaty in Kazakhstan has concluded two days of happenings marking Chof Av, yartzeit of the Rebbe’s father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, of blessed memory.
This year marked a larger than ever group of chassidim who came from around the world to daven at the resting place of Rabbi Levi Yitzchok as part of an organized effort to honor his memory.
Speaking to the crowd gathered were Rabbi Dovid Dubov who is tirelessly working on publishing the Rabbi Levi Yitzchok’s Torah and bringing to the public, as well as Rabbi Elie Wolff who spoke about the updated edition of Toldos Levi Yitzchok.
The farbrengen was emceed by educator Rabbi Menachem Kenig and addressed by Avi Shaulson and Sam Stern who funded the effort, as well as Rabbi MM Glucowsky of Rechovot and Rabbi Chaim Schapiro of Morristown, NJ.
The farbrengen continued for many hours, with Chassidic music by singer Yoni Shlomo and musician Arale Lipsker. Chof Av events in Almaty were organized by Fleishman Peles Productions.
