The Lubavitcher Kirshenzaft family is still in awe of the miracle that occurred to their son and his family this week.
Pinni and Aidi Kirshenzaft were returning from a wedding in Jerusalem with their two daughters when their vehicle was involved in a severe pile-up collision.
An Eged city bus lost control, hitting the car behind them and pushing it forward, forcing it to rest on the roof of Kirshenzaft’s car and crushing it.
Miraculously, all Kirshenzaft family members that were in the car were left unscathed and escaped the car.
“Pinni saw the bus from his rear view mirror and within moments, his car was crushed,” said his father, Rabbi Yigal Kirshenzaft. “Only after exiting his car did he see that a car was actually on his roof. He has no idea how it ended up there.”
He said his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren were brought to the hospital for examination, “but thank G-d they were all fine. The medical team was shocked to see that no one was hurt.”
Apparently, the passenger seat in which Aidi Kirshenzaft was sitting suddenly fell back. “That’s how she wasn’t injured,” Rabbi Kirshenzaft said. “It is a miracle. We will be making special meal of thanks to thank G-d.”
Pinni assists his father in the institution named “Chabad House of Gush Katif,” which serves the Jewish families evacuated from the Gaza Strip as part of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s “Disengagement Plan.”
The center is located in a plasterboard caravilla in the refugee camp of Nitzan, between Ashdod and Ashkelon, and operates even while missiles keep coming from Palestinians in Gaza.
Pinni’s task is to drive the Mitzvah Tank which includes a book and video library and helps keep children out of trouble. “He gathers them and says the 12 Pesukim with them. He doesn’t miss a day, even in heavy rain or heat. He has dedication to the Rebbe, so he has great merits,” his father said.
Rabbi Kirshenzaft noted that each member of the family has a “special day” they mark when a miracle occurred to them, while living under enemy lines.
“The only one that didn’t have such a date was Pinni. Now he has a miracle of his own. May we only hear good news,” his father concludes.
