Jewish women from 35 cities and 4 countries have returned home after an exhilarating N’shei Ubnos Chabad weekend retreat in S. Antonio, TX.
It was truly a Shabbos of friendship, unity, Simcha and camaraderie as Jewish women from all walks of life came together to learn and to focus on increasing their connection to Hashem through Torah, Chassidus and Mitzvos.
Each woman searched for a way to “Personalize Her Global Mission”.
For several hundred delegates it was the first time participating in a Nshei convention. Many expressed themselves to the organizers, “thank you for bringing the convention to Texas – for the first time ever!”
With a wide array of choices, the program included something for everyone. Workshops included topics on Awesome Aging, by Frumma Rosenberg-Gottlieb, How Happiness Happens, by Esther Hadassah Samuels, Bully-Proofing Your Child, by Rivka Fishman and Waking Up to Life Seminar by Manya Lazaroff.
There was laughter and tears as Meryl Butler told her story of return to Judaism after 35 years practicing another religion and of her miraculous recovery from a deadly disease. She is sure that Hashem orchestrated her recovery every step of the way!
Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Jacobson, scholar in residence, had the delegates drinking in his profound teaching and inspiration. Chanie Krasnianski, Shlucha in NY, contributed her warmth, ideas, and life experience on a number of relevant topics.
Sightseeing on the S. Antonio River, River Walk, at the Alamo and the Mexican shops – was all part of the fun. Farbrenging, singing, music and dancing all portrayed how the conventioneers were totally involved in the experience.
A highlight of the program, the Melave Malka – Mexican Fiesta, took place in the truly beautiful, newly built Chabad Center. Sporting Sombreros, the women had a wonderful time!
Rabbi Chaim Block, Shliach of Southern Texas, read a letter that the Rebbe had sent to a previous convention. Rivkie Block, his esteemed wife and Shlucha concluded the program by suggesting areas in which one might want to take a good resolution home with them, in order to continue the beautiful learning and spirit experienced at the convention-retreat.
