Students at Bais Chana High School in Orange, Connecticut spent the last few days sharing the light of Chanukah with others while having loads of fun!
Whether joining in an entertaining Chanukah game, or arranging learning to take place during their free time, the energy of Chanukah was palpable every single day, as students participated in many worthwhile activities.
The week began with a Chessed Toy Drive, where students assisted with the collection and wrapping of gifts. These presents brought smiles and Chanukah cheer to sick children in local hospitals.
Next on the agenda, “Chanukah on Ice” ice skating, replete with warm drinks, latkes and applesauce, as well as a school-wide gift exchange, unified the entire student body in a beautiful display of achdus.
On Rosh Chodesh, Bais Chana hit the road on mivtzoim to bring pirsumei nisa to the surrounding area. Students gave out menorahs at a local store where amongst the many people touched, one Jewish woman and her young daughter were just so excited to receive their own menorah to light.
A delightful evening Chanukah bash took place at a student’s home. Included in the festivities were games, music, dancing, and an excellent time was had by all. To wrap up the week-long excitement, a special program on Zos Chanukah introduced the Bnos Chabad theme for Teves, of taking small steps to bring incremental success in implementing the inspiration from the month of Kislev. The girls were treated to a donut wall and tea bar, and a beautiful music video filmed by the students was presented.
