Machon L’Yahadus is hosting an event open to all women and girls in the community.
The evening is in honor of Rebbetzin Chana on the occasion of her 60th yartzeit.
The celebration begins Monday evening, Ohr L’Vov Tishrei, with refreshments at 8:00 p.m. The program beings at 8:30 pm features Mrs. Esther Sternberg, whose stories of personal encounters always inspire and invigorate her audience.
Rabbi Shloma Majeski, principal of Machon L’Yahadus will share an opening Dvar Torah. He will also address the tragic secular date, October 7th.
In explanation, Rabbi Majeski shared, “It says in reference to Rochel Imeinu, that by Divine intervention she was buried ‘along the way’ so that she would be able to pray for her children when they went into exile,” explains Rabbi Majeski. “So too, that Vov Tishrei begins this year on October 7th, we can rely that the zechus of Rebbetzin Chana – Eim HaMalchus (Mother of Royalty) will act to reverse the devastation of October 7th and everything that followed. And as with Tisha B’Av that it will become a Yom Tov, so too may we properly celebrate the Jewish date of October 7th – Simchas Torah with the complete Geula!”
Current student Bailey Goldbaum from Madison, Wisconsin will share her journey to Machon L’Yahadus. Machon L’Yahadus teacher Mrs. Rivky Perlstein will chair the evening.
“We are happy to share with the community that Machon L’Yahadus is thriving. A new enthusiastic group of students have joined us this year as well as a full cadre of returning second year students,” notes Mrs. Yehudis Cohen, assistant principal. “This growth is thanks to our teaching and support staff at Machon L’Yahadus who are all passionate about what they teach and devoted to the students.”
This year’s students hail from across the United States and Canada, as well as Israel, Argentina, Ukraine, Hungary, and London.
The 60thYartzeit Event will take place in the Machon L’Yahadus dorm at 1367 President Street. The dorm is under the direction of Mrs. Shterna Rodal, dorm mother. Anyone unable to attend in person can join on zoom. Meeting ID: 832 826 3444 Passcode: Learning
