The wedding of JJ Deitsch and Fraida Jacobson was celebrated by the entire Crown Heights neighborhood, from afar when their wedding plans changed due to the widespread outbreak of CoronaVirus.
As only a small group of 10 people were allowed to attend the wedding, following the chuppah, the family planned a small ‘parade’ for the newlyweds to drive around for a few blocks and invite the neighbors to join the celebration.
Soon, the entire community began calling the family, asking to be part of the route.
So, they expanded the route to the entire neighborhood, so that the entire community could celebrate together with them.
Throughout the neighborhood, young and old came out of their homes to greet the newlyweds singing and dancing along with a car following a music truck blasting niggunim. The couple even stopped for a joyous dance at the Kallah’s grandmother’s home who was unable to attend.
As the Chosson and Kallah left the Jacobson home on President street, neighbors organized a surprise send off where people kept distance from each other and from the Chosson and Kallah and their parents What followed was beautiful but reckless. People dancing in the street and next to the car instead of from their porches as it was intended Even Bubby Jacobson stayed on her porch and threw her hugs and kisses from there. Mazel Tov To this special chosson and Kallah that have brought so much joy to the world.
I live on a different time zone thousands of miles away and was only able to enjoy these clips hours after, Yet I honestly felt that for the first time this was a community wedding celebration.
Now I’m sure such feelings Chabad Shluchim have been able to give their respective communities similar vibes. But this was the first for me.
Thank you for sharing your simcha with the entire lubavitch community
Ashreinu! So lucky to be a Jew
Just so incredible I was almost crying I wish I could have a wedding like this, but most likely not. 🙁
Mazol Tov that couple should be so full of Brochos.
Don’t worry,
Hashem can and very POSSIBLY will send you a beautiful wedding with the best for you person. THINK GOOD AND IT WILL BE GOOD!
Thank you for the kind words. Shidduchim are too complicating tho even for people who put their effort. Eventually when you try something so often and it doesn’t work you recognize that maybe this is not your field? Marriage perhaps is not for everyone many young people don’t know what real commitment is. It’s so easy to get into a marriage that’s not for you maybe it’s not worth the risk because of how complicated it is to get the right candidates no matter how diligent you are?
Dont give up. Hashem will send you the best
wow wow Mazel Tov
