A delegation of women associated with the UJA Federation of New York were in Crown Heights Monday.
They were taking interest in the communal Jewish leadership of the Brooklyn neighborhood populated by Chassidic Jews and African Americans.
Congresswoman Yvette Clarke (Brooklyn-D) described the unique combination of her constituency, partly embodied in her as an avid supporter of Israel.
The meeting was hosted in the Sukkah of major appliance merchant Sholomo and Chaya Drimmer on Crown Street.
R’ Eliyahu Cohen, Executive Director of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council, addressed them about how locals are coping with the current economic situation.
The visit was coordinated by David Pollackof JCRC and Met Council of New York.
I think the Sperlins and the Drimmers share a decorator.
