R’ Eliezer Dovid Carroll, an active and beloved member of the Chabad community in North Miami Beach, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, 25 Av 5773.
He tuned 52 this month and friends held a farbrengen at his hospital bed.
Carroll strived to provide the best for his family, but he was stricken with the dreaded illness just after passing the Bar exam to become a lawyer a few short months ago.
The news has shocked the community who remember Carroll always present and engaged in communal happenings and preparing kiddushim at congregation Bais Menachem of North Miami Beach, led by Rabbi Yossi Marlow.
Hundreds turned out for the Levaya, held on Thursday in Miami.
“The whole community is reeling from it and a mother and her 6 young children are left heartbroken after the untimely loss of their beloved husband and father,” one friend said.
In an effort to ease the financial burden, a fund has been established to assist the Carroll family. Please give generously at www.bmnmb.com.
He is survived by his wife Dina Carroll, and children Aaron (20), Mendel (16), Golda (14), Yossi (12), Shalom (9), and Sreli (6).
The family is sitting Shiva at their home 1030 NE 179th Street until Wednesday morning. Visiting hours: Friday 8am-12pm; 2-4pm. Sunday-Tuesday 8am-1pm; 6-9:30pm. Davening times: Shacharis 8:30 am. Mincha 8:00 pm followed by Ma’ariv bizmanoh. Friday Mincha at 2:00 pm.

BDE, David will be sorely missed by our community. The Carroll family were an integral part of Coral Springs for many years. The children grew up here and our families extend a bracha to Dinah and the children that. They may have no more sorrow. Dinah shows the strength and determination that Dovd needed, she is a wonderful mother and can use all our help to continue. Ad mosai

Dovid Carroll was a highly intelligent man, a wonderful friend, husband and father who did much Chesed for the community. Not only did he become a lawyer right before his illness, he was a brilliant engineer who became a Baal Tshuva who perhaps now may be doing alot more chesed for the Jewish Community with his talents than we can possibly imagine. Any donation would be certainly be appreciated to help his family .A great loss for everyone who knew him.
