Mrs. Malka (Doris) Lazar, a member of the Chabad community of Montreal and widow of R’ Yosef Tzvi Lazar, passed away at 82.
As a young child, she survived the Holocaust while hiding with her sister Ruth and mother. Her father Mordechai HY”D was murdered by the Nazis.
Her mother Leeba o”bm raised and educated her two daughters in Alsace; they later emigrated to Canada.
In Montreal, she married R’ Yosef Tzvi Lazar ob”m and together she dedicated her life to her family.
She was a true Woman of Valor and role model who taught by her family by example how to be G-d fearing Jews. She was meticulous in the observance of Mitzvos, measured her words carefully, and lived a life of truth and integrity.
She is survived by her children Fruma Zajac and Motty Lazar of Montreal, Sara Shubov of Crown Heights, Rochel Leah Shur of Toronto, and Eli Lazar of London, England; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister Mrs. Ruth Silber.
Shiva will be at 4974 Kent until Monday morning.
