“Ani hashem lo shanisi” is the abc’s of Chassidus. There will always be a level of Hashem that does not get “changed” because of an action we do. In fact i just learned a mamor that says that this will be the “Miracle” of Yemos H”Moshiach. in that we will bring down that high level that does not get changed yet Hashem will still want us to do good. The Mammor says that this is a dichotomy we simply cant understand. Never in Chassidus does it “do away” with that level that Hashem does not get “changed” and that he… Read more »

Do you think Rabbi Manis has a weaker grip on these issues than yourself, may I respectfully suggest you go to his lecture and allow him to present his views, if you have questions ask him

I have presented these ideas that Rabbi Manis speaks about in these shiurim to 2 experts in Chasidus. They both said that although Rabbi Manis probably does not exactly mean what he saying literally – but the ideas the way he expresses them are highly problematic and not in line with the fundamentals of Machsheves Yisroel in general and especially not in line with the teachings of Chasidus. Of course my comment is not meant in anyway to be disrespectful to Rabbi Manis who we all have much to learn from, i just think that regarding certain issues he should… Read more »

it is absurd to say “a Rebbe does not need a source”
All a Rebbe says is based on the Torah.
There is nothing new under the Sun.
In each generation the Torah is given over in a format best suited to people.

with all due respect, you’d better read the hadran again.in footnote 37 the Rebbe explains that Hashem doesn’t need anything from the creation. “והרי זה חידוש גדול ובסתירה לכאורה …למחז”ל בנוגע לתואר מלך דהקב”ה ד”אין מלך בלא עם
שהשלימות שבעניין התהוות הנבראים ישנה בו גם טרם שהמציא אותם
one needs to be careful not to mislead ppl about something as important as understanding fundamentals in Judaism

I recently heard Rabbi Manis speak to this topic, there were many penetrating questions, to my satisfaction is answered them all with mekoros.
I would recommend this lecture to any Chosid and every thinking Jew.

Thanks #3 for source. what chapter(s) in Hadran ?? Only A Rebbe does not need a source (and Yet the Rebbes Torah is packed with sources) all the rest of us MUST quote sources. Rabbi YY and Simon Jacobson always quote sourses.

Please read the beginning of rambam again with the rebbes hadran in ל”ה . And what does it mean איו מלך בלא עם which refers to hashem also?

It really is Good to Know :)

Well, it’s sage to assume #1 won’t be participating… For the rest of is, who believe that learning included hearing things that you don’t already know!!! – we’ll learn mag grow and maybe have a little more yiras shomayim as the good rabbi proposes.
To IGTK, thanks for doing this. Keep on keeping on!!!

Source please

Would love to see one source rooted in Chassidus That Hashem NEEDS anything. The beginning of Rambam is all about how he NEEDS nothing. The point of “Nisoveh” is that its higher then a “need” and we cant ask any questions as to what it is. Yes – we fulfill his desire… But your not allowed to say that hashem “needs”anything.
