Dani Dayan, Consul General of Israel in New York, paid a visit to the Jewish Children’s Museum last week and toured the exhibits.
The Consul General was accompanied by Devorah Halberstam, co-founder of the Museum, who explained the history and background of the museum and the exhibits.
Mr. Dayan was impressed with the museum, and wanted to know more about the museum’s namesake Ari Halberstam and the meaning behind the museum in his memory.
The Consul General was greatly impressed with the mural outside the museum, which depicts one large child made up of many children.
“Mr. Dayan was very moved by the mural, and the magnitude of what it represents, the unity of children of all faiths and races,” Devorah Halberstam said. “Mr. Dayan said he enjoyed the visit, and said he hopes to visit again one day with his grandchildren.”
Thank you Devorah Halberstam for bringing such dignitaries to our neighborhood for good reasons only
