Camp Gan Israel of Detroit will be opening up a new Teen Camp Division this summer designed for 8th-grade Chabad girls entering high school.
This program will be independent of the rest of camp with special age-appropriate activities and trips. There will also be workshops, late nights, Shabbos programs, farbrengens and a Shluchos trip.
“The program will be focused around ingraining Chassidishkeit and chayus in your daughter, led by a dedicated group of staff,” camp directors said.
For more than 55 years, CGI Detroit has been at the forefront of Lubavitcher camps around the world in setting the standards for an action-packed summer, encapsulated by Chassidishkeit and Hiskashrus.
“Parents give up a lot to send their kids to camp and they expect them to be taken care of both physically and spiritually in the best way possible. This is a responsibility we take very seriously and have been doing so for over half a century,” said one of the directors.
“No two summers are ever the same, as the dedicated staff work tirelessly for months and months creatively scheming and planning to give the campers a summer like none other,” they said.
The girls camp will begin Wednesday, July 25 (13 Av) and conclude on Monday, August 20 (9 Elul).
The boys camp is being held in 2 locations:
Kalkaska for 4 weeks: Wednesday, June 27 (14 Tammuz) – Tuesday, July 24 (12 Av).
Oak Park for 3 Weeks: Tuesday, July 24 (12 Av) – Tuesday, August 14 (3 Elul).
The camp said they will be having visiting days, despite other camps canceling them.
