Crown Heights schools will join a Lag Baomer March this year, which will end at the annual Lag BaOmer Grand Rally by Tzivos Hashem and NCFJE, COLlive has learned.
Crown Heights school marching bands have been busily practicing for the Lag BaOmer march that will take place in the neighborhood, which will end at the Old Boys and Girls Field on Troy Avenue between Maple Street and Rutland Avenue.
The marching bands are being directed and coordinated by Berel Meyers, who gathers the 8th graders each afternoon after school to practice, working hard to make this Lag BaOmer a festive and exciting event.
On Lag BaOmer, Thursday morning, every school will line up at 10:00 am and head to their meeting point, organizers said.
The schools will march down Albany Avenue, with each school joining as the parade passes their meeting point. Upon entering the park, girls will enter on Maple, boys will march farther and enter from Rutland.
Schools joining the march are Oholei Torah, ULY Ocean Parkway, Gan Acadamy Boys, Ohr Menachem, ULY Crown Sreet, Oholei Yosef Yitzchok, Cheder at the Ohel, Magen Yiosroel, Beis Chaya Mushka, Anash Kinder, Tzivos Hashem of Wyoming County, Gan Acadamy Girls, Beis Rivkah and Bnos Menachem.
Marching Bands will be from Oholei Torah, Ohr Menachem and ULY Crown Street.
The annual Upsherenish Horse and Buggy will leave from Oholei Torah.
Lag BaOmer will begin Wednesday evening with a grand event in Crown Heights this year, with the Siyum HaRambam and community unity bonfire both to take place in front of 770 Eastern Parkway.
The double celebration will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 7:30 PM and will feature superstar singer Avraham Fried.
