With the start of a new school year, the excitement has begun at Chabad Girls Academy in Crown Heights.
A warm welcome kicked off the new year bringing many new students and staff as the school has expanded to accommodate grades 5-8.
New renovations are nearing completion to add a lunchroom which will also serve as an art studio for the students.
Tuesday, students arrived for orientation, dressed beautifully in their crisp new uniforms. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful as students and teachers introduced themselves. This year the school has grown and doubled in size. There are still a few spots left in the seventh and eighth grade class.
The school’s teachers began their training sessions with their new curriculum director who meets with them individually and as a group on a weekly basis throughout the year, offering support to all the staff.
The teachers will be covering a full curriculum in both judaic and secular studies including many hands on creative classes. A new program director has been hired to create the Bnos Chabad program which includes trips, farbrengens, Tzivos Hashem, chessed programs, and different clubs throughout the year.
“Seeing the smiles on the girls faces as they look forward to an exciting year is really incredible,” said the school’s Director Devorah Leah Angyalfi. “They are motivated and ready to learn. Each girl has prepared her supplies and books eagerly waiting for classes to begin. School is now in session and students are sharing their excitement and ideas with teachers and staff.”
Chabad Girls Academy is in its fifth year. Their mission is to instill midos in their students, develop their social, emotional and academic skills, and allow them to become leaders using their own talents and creativity. These goals are based on the teachings of Torah and chassidus, specifically on the possuk of Yagaati Umotzosi Taamin. May we all receive much nachas from our incredible daughters, true bnos yisroel!
