In these days leading up to Pesach, we like to post the following updates, particularly as they relate to our social support services within the community:

COVID hotline: 212-901-2000.
The hotline is available for all questions related to COVID.
Hotline schedule for the coming week:
-The hotline will continue to be staffed this week from 10am-10pm Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
– On Wednesday, Erev Yom Tov, if you have any questions, call and leave a voicemail; we will be returning calls left on the voicemail throughout the day.
– We will be live again on Chol Hamoed from 12pm-8pm but feel free to leave a voicemail at any time and the call will be returned.
At this time we have fielded nearly 4,000 phone calls. A special thank you to our wonderful team of Gedaliah Society volunteers, dozens of whom have devoted a tremendous amount of time and energy to staffing the hotline and making themselves available for our community.

Errand schedule for the upcoming week:
-Sunday-Tuesday from 10am-8pm.
-We will not be open for errands on Wednesday, Erev Yom Tov.
-Chol Hamoed hours will be: Sunday & Monday 10am- 4pm. Tuesday we will not be open.
Thank you to over 100 of our incredible volunteers, who have thus far conducted over 400 errands for Crown Heights families who are unable to leave their home for safety reasons. We have picked up and delivered essential medications, food, and supplies in the Crown Heights area to so many grateful families.
Individuals under the age of 45 who have not had any symptoms or those who have recovered beyond the 7 day + 72 hour window who would like to volunteer to do errands for the elderly and ill families, please fill out this form: Volunteer Sign-up

Mental Health Hotline!
While a virus is a threat to our physical health, mental health is just as important!
With health concerns and quarantines in full swing, many of us are feeling the effects on our mental and emotional well-being. Now is the time to give mental wellness our full attention.
Neshamos.org and the Gedaliah Society have collaborated with a remarkable team of mental health professionals to provide an anonymous mental health support hotline. Please call the hotline number (212-901-2000) and follow the prompts to speak to a certified mental health professional, available from 9 am to 11 pm daily. You can also leave a message during our operating hours and someone will contact you as soon as we’re back on the line.
Although the hotline has only been in operation for one week, we’ve already helped so many people, spreading much-needed calm and comfort during difficult times.

As a community we continue to struggle against this pandemic and we are not through it yet. We would like to remind our wonderful community to please continue to practice social distancing and wear a mask in public. Those above 65 years old or with underlying health conditions, please continue to isolate at home.
May those who are healthy and well continue to stay well, and those who are unfortunately still in the hospital have a complete and speedy recovery.
