Tens of thousands around the US and Canada will join simultaneously for “Connection & Commitment: A live, interactive coast-to-coast farbrengen” in preparation for Gimmel Tammuz on Sunday, June 26 – 20 Sivan 5776 at 2:00pm EST.
Hundreds of communities will gather together to join the historic event, joining live with Anash communities across the USA and Canada.
Dozens of communities have already confirmed their participation in the event, with many more to join, which will be hosted live from locations including Houston, TX; Los Angeles, California; Miami, Florida; Montreal, Canada; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Brooklyn, NY, and many others.
“Community Rabbonim, leaders and activists in these locations are energized and creating a large scale excitement for this coast-to-coast act of unity among the family of Chassidim in this year of Hakhel,” organizers said.
Rabbonim that are encouraging their community to join their local event include Rabbis Leibel Schapiro, Yisroel Rosenfeld, Berel Bell, Shimon Raichik, Shimon Lazaroff, Berel Mockin, Avraham Benshimon, Dovid Bannon, Yossi Marlow, Yossi Denburg, Sholom Lipskar, Moshe Stern and Yakov Ringo.
The program will be geared for men, women and children and will include special video clips of the Rebbe, world class speakers as well as special live, musical presentations – all featured live from various locations across the USA and Canada.
With over 13,000 men, women and children expected to join at the live broadcasting community events, communities are renting special convention centers or other such venues to accommodate expected crowds, organizers said.
“While communal gatherings happen at times throughout the year, what makes this event unique is that this is the first time an event of such nature – live broadcast where communities will both see as well as be seen – is happening uniting communities across the USA and Canada. What more fitting time than during a shnas hakhel in preparation for a day so important to the entire family as Gimmel Tamuz,” organizers said.
