The Stock family in Crown Heights is inviting the community to visit their porch on Purim day and see the famed CSSY charity box.
Famously held by R’ Shimshon Stock, the late and beloved founder of Chevra Simchas Shabbos V’Yom Tov (CSSY), the box will be stationed on Purim day, Sunday, at 593 Montgomery Street. Kids who visit will receive a special treat.
Shimshon and his wife Martha OBM served the community for over 31 years with great devotion to the needy and dedicated their lives to bringing joy and assistance to hundreds of families in Crown Heights.
CSSY, initiated by the Lubavitcher Rebbe and headed today by Benzion Stock and Abe Moskovits, continues the couple’s legacy, discreetly providing funds, food and support 365 days a year.
Purim marks R’ Shimshon’s yartzeit, and the family is calling on residents to visit the Stock porch on Purim and donate. “We know Shimshon will be thrilled to see you there,” they say.
“All tzedakas go towards the much needed Maos Chitim fund which begins 30 days before Pesach. Unfortunately the needs have been increasing… Please stop by and help make someone else’s Simcha increase.”
Dear Shimshon and Martha,
Thank you for listening to me those twenty odd years ago, because you made such a difference in my life. It’s lonely being a single woman coming back to yiddishkeit, in another country, with no family. You both were so kind .
May you rest in peace. Just wonderful people. The best. And bengy and his wife, the best.
From
Simcha
