All My Childen Day Care & Nursery school is currently seeking to hire Speech Therapist SLP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluates the communication skills of children referred for speech/language evaluations to determine if they meet the Assessment Standards to be Speech and/or Language Impaired and make recommendations to the IEP Team. Refers children to other professionals when appropriate. Serves as a member of IEP Teams to: Determine eligibility for Special Education services and Assist in preparing individualized educational programs (IEPs) to address student needs, particularly in the areas of speech and language. Provides intervention services to implement IEP goals and objectives with the goal of coordinating with the general curriculum.

Schedules caseloads and maintains student records. Evaluates and documents student progress. Provides written reports regarding student progress toward meeting annual IEP goals. Consults and collaborates with parents and school staff to provide integrated services. Assists in writing transition plans. Participates in continuing education experiences so as to adhere to best practices of the profession. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Qualification, Skills and knowledge Requirements
SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: using specialized equipment used in the treatment of communication disorders; operating standard office equipment including pertinent computer software; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: speech and hearing disorders; principles and practices of speech and language therapy; and equipment, materials and procedures.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather and/or collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize job-related equipment. Some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data may require
independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; utilizing specialized equipment for communication disorders; maintaining confidentiality; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; working with detailed information/data; maintaining effective working relationships; working independently; and maintaining confidentiality.
Master's Degree from an accredited institution
Current license issued by the New York State Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
