The rain kept its distance during Cheder at the Ohel’s pre Lag B’Omer Parade. In a spirit of Ahavas Yisrael, Cheder at the Ohel students marched from their building through Valley Stream State Park and into the neighborhood.
Kita Hey had a drum band and the younger grades made posters about the different mivtziom the Rebbe implemented.
The oldest class is still in the process of building a tefillin float for a local shaliach.
A spectator stopped some of the marchers to let them know how nice it is to see a Jewish presence in this neighborhood. He made a point to mention that he is Jewish too and he used to drive a bus in Brooklyn for yeshiva boys.
At the end of the parade, the boys held a rally with the 12 pesukim led by principal, Rabbi Pinchas Margolis.
The boys and their families enjoyed the parade. “This parade is so nice because it is small. I can see my son march and the boys of all grades can fully participate.” commented a Cheder parent.
It was a great prep for the Great Parade to be help in Crown Heights on Sunday that the Cheder boys will be participating in as well.
Keep it up
