A wide array of exciting programs and resources have been prepared for men and women of all ages to celebrate the Rebbe’s and Rebbetzin’s 90th Wedding Anniversary.
On Yud Daled Kislev 1978, the 50th anniversary of the marriage of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin, the Rebbe said at the farbrengen: “a wedding anniversary, especially one connected with a special number of years, is customarily marked by family and friends joining together in many different locations to celebrate together. We should utilize these gatherings to increase in Torah study and meticulous care in performing the Mitzvos.”
This Wednesday night and Thursday marks the 90th wedding anniversary of the Rebbe and the Rebbetzin which took place on Yud-Daled Kislev 5689 (1928). In honor of this year’s momentous milestone, Vaad Tishim Shana, a committee of Yungeleit and Bochurim under the auspices of Tzeirei Agudas Chabad, has worked together with other organizations to create an avenue for every Chossid, men, women and children, to celebrate this Yom Tov.
In Crown Heights, a special farbrengen will be taking place in the upstairs zal of 770 tonight (Wednesday) at 9:00 pm. Present at the farbrengen will be Rabbi Yoel Kahn, Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, Rabbi Yisroel Friedman and Rabbi Shomo Zarchi. At what is sure to be a memorable event, they will be recounting their memories of the historic farbrengen of Yud Daled Kislev 5714 which took place in that very room.

The following are some of the programs which the vaad has arranged:
Schools – JEM in conjunction with Vaad Or Vechom, has prepared a engaging curriculum being thaghut in 75 schools world-wide.
Now available in two versions and can take as little as 20 minutes to teach this is the perfect opportunity to teach your students about this special day and encourage them to give a gift to the Rebbe and Rebbetzin. Click here to sign up today and teach tomorrow.
Yeshivas – In conjunction with Vaad Hatmimim, the Vaad published a unique koivetz limmud (Download here) with material for bochurim to learn in preparation for Yud Daled Kislev. The Kovetz is a compilation of various sichas from the Rebbe’s Torah and specifically ones that have a relevance to Yud Daled Kislev. In each yeshiva, one bochur was chosen to represent the yeshiva by the Rebbe on Yud-Daled Kislev. On the day itself, farbrengens will be held at each yeshiva respectfully.
A Chassidisher Derher – The popular monthly Chassidisher Derher magazine has published a special edition magazine in honour of Yud Daled Kislev. This publication has already been distributed to many communities, schools, and yeshivas worldwide. 14 Kislev Edition Download
Press – Each year before Yud Tes Kislev the Rebbe would send a letter addressed to world Jewry detailing the importance of the upcoming day. This letter was known as a michtav kloli. One of these letters is featured in the current edition of the Jewish Press.
Media – JEM has produced a special video presentation recounting the events of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s wedding and footage of celebrations that took place throughout the years of the Rebbe’s leadership. This presentation is available for public screening and for private viewing via JEM Video Presentation. The video is a great base for a farbrengen with your family at home!
Community Farbrengens: This year the festivities of Yud Daled Kislev will be experienced across the globe. Vaad Or Vechom has arranged for community farbrengens to be held in cities across the world including Chicago, Capetown, Paris and many more.
Visiting the Ohel – Heated coach busses will be going from Kingston Ave & Eastern Parkway to the ohel and back, throughout the day (see schedule here). The busses are for men, women, and children. Many thanks to Beis Shmuel for their kind sponsorship.

The Farbrengen will be led by Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, Rabbi Sholom Duchman, Rabbi Yossi Kessler and Rabbi Leibel Korf. Each will be discussing their experiences of a Yud Daled Kislev milestone throughout the years of the Rebbe’s nesius. This will be followed by farbrengens and joyous dancing throughout the night. The event will be broadcasted live by Chabad.org at Chabad.org/14Kislev
Archive – An archive of all the new publications for the 90th anniversary can be found at: bit.ly/14KislevArchive
Gifts – The Rebbe requested that all gifts given to the Rebbe in honor of Yud-Daled Kislev comprise of both Torah study and Tzedaka.
As the Rebbe discussed in the 1978 talk, we chasidim – the Rebbe’s family and friends – will gather together around the world to celebrate this joyous occasion and to strengthen our connection to the Rebbe, focusing, as the Rebbe stressed, on the practical element – ma’aseh b’poial.
We deeply thank our generous sponsors without whom this would not be possible. We also thank Rabbi Moshe Pinson and Mendy Drookman for their invaluable assistance.
We hope that these activities and the gifts of chasidim around the world will cause tremendous Nachas Ruach to the Rebbe, that we should be zoche to celebrate this Yud-Daled Kislev together with the Rebbe in the physical sense, dancing into the Geulah Shleima תיכף ומיד ממש!
