Last night the Chamah organization celebrated their 21st annual concert and dinner, a tribute to Israel’s 60th birthday, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Manhattan.
Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, founder and president of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, and his wife Joelle were guests of honor. The guest speaker was Ambassador John Bolton.
Guests enjoyed entertainment by Israeli singer Ron Eliran.
Chamah is a non-profit organization operating in the United States, Israel and Russia. It was founded in 1953 underground in the former Soviet Union. The programs which Chamah has been successfully operating for nearly fifty years are aimed to upgrade Jewish awareness among Russian Jews and help the elderly and needy.
Their activities in the United States, Israel and Russia include soup kitchens, “Meals on Wheels” programs, home care for the elderly, senior citizen centers, community centers, institutions for underprivileged children, and distribution of food for the hungry and needy population in Russia.
