The Hebraica Jewish Community Center in S. Paulo, Brazil, one of the largest JCC centers in the world, has been hosting a Chabad Shul on its campus for over two years.
Run by Shluchim Berel and Mussi Schildkraut, the Rabbi has been offering services, classes, and activities for local Jews and visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
Recently, they welcomed a new Sefer Torah, for the first time in the campus’s history.
Over 500 people were in attendance for the historic event.
The event began with the writing of the 400 final letters of the Torah, and the Torah was then welcomed with joyous singing and dancing.
“We are very thankful to the President of the Hebraica JCC, Daniel Leon Bialsky, who opened up the doors for us to be able to bring even more Yiddishkeit to the center,” Rabbi Schildkraut said.
