If this is the battle you choose to fight you lost the war. You worry about writing about revenge but a real revenge forgot about it.

Perhaps a little sensitivity to the family and the way they are grieving. Opinions like this or what May seem like a fact to you does not have to always be said for the sake of shalom, empathy, and dignity

As a fairly fresh orphan, I’ve unfortunately recently learned about the importance and significance of each word and letter on a loved one’s stone-and believe me, a lot of agmat nefesh goes into getting the stone just right.

Your comment is distasteful and tactless at best. I bless you that you never have to find out for yourself how painful this process is.

I think the commenter was addressing the Israeli military establishment, and not addressing the family.

Is the State of Israel against Hashem. Therefore they refused to allow HASHEM on the gravestone.
In addition, the revenge Hashem will take will be on the ones who caused the bloodshed, namely the Israeli government who is allowing and encouraging this war. How many chayalim need to be sacrificed for the hostages???

Shame

You are writing like a kid..
grief, respect to fallen soldiers and Jews is deeply important according to the Torah and common sense.
Regardless of Israel having to fight the war properly with having fear of the West and America as the Rebbe said so many times.

This war should have never happened
He should have never been killed 😡
I fault the army leadership for their abject failure to protect their own people.
Unbelievable negligence.
Where were they for seven hours after the attack began?!
Why did they ignore the prior intelligence indicating a probable attack?!
They have blood on their hands. Putting the math yomru hagoyim over the welfare of their own people.

Amazing! Such a kiddush Hashem!

This is showing how the state of Israel has completely transformed from what it was! They now are publicly recognizing that it’s not about the strength of our soldiers, but it’s all Hashem, and it’s He who will truly avenge these kedoshim!

The fact that IDF leadership fought this, does not reflect particularly well on the mentality that seems to prevail among some in the General Staff.

The old timers in the Israeli government, running the show behind the scenes, are still of the same stock as the yesevtskeh and haskala movement. They do not believe in Hashem and therefore do not have an intrinsic appreciation of the value of every life. You are either useful or useless ie. Essential or non essential (to their agenda…) sounds familiar? We had our own firsthand run with these communist psychopaths by covid. ruthless people who will betray their own at a moments notice as soon as their useful idiots are no longer needed. And lie through their teeth because… Read more »

It’s not the politicians that are the problem actually. Certainly not the PM. It is the high ranking officials of the bureaucracy. In Hebrew, the פקידים.

When we are in a middle of a war we concentrate on achdus and supporting each other. After the hostages are all home and all soldiers return from war will be time to figure out what went wrong and what to do going forward.
As to the article. Baruch HaShem the family not only got permission to write היד on their sons gravestone but also for all soldiers.
May moshiach come now

Not if you’re being led by corrupt, G-dless fools and imbeciles who created the problems to begin with…
They need to be held accountable before more innocent get needlessly killed…
These are the same people who pushed for and implemented the Gaza withdrawal too…
Create the problem, offer the solution, cause havoc destruction and suffering, and profit off of all of it.

All the soldiers

Return home? Of course now is the time to ask questions. How else will the soldiers, who should never be out there fighting to begin with, return home?
Enough have already been killed or maimed. Thousands.

Ask questions! Demand answers! Don’t just “follow orders”.

An ignorent question
July 4, 2024 9:46 am

Why does the IDF get a say on what someone puts on their gravestone? Isn’t that a private affair?

Because...

As a soldier he was buried in a military cemetery so in that case there are regulations.
Totally not excusing them at all, just explaining how the issue came up.

Shame on the commenters

Some of the comments here are shameful. A few days before gimmel tamuz hashloshim, many here have jettisoned Lubavitch and have joined niturei karta.

I’m happy for the Yudkin family who will be able to have their chosen nusach on the matzeiva of their son who died al kiddush Hashem. May see no more korbonos.

To honor the Rebbe it is important that we cry out
July 4, 2024 3:32 pm

against this atheist govt and war cabinet that has so terribly messed up and are putting the lives of our fellow yidden in danger all the time with these leftist policies. To stay silent is to ignore how much the Rebbe cried his guts out about protecting the Land and its People as he saw what was coming and everything he predicted came true. From stupidly and dangerously offering to give away land and signing peace treaties with terrorists who hate us, it has cost us all dearly, not to mention the terrible retreat from gaza and falling asleep while… Read more »

Now it’s a good time to ask to mention H’ name on it (like we know the Rebbe’s opinion on this)
