Chabad had a strong presence at the General Assembly of Jewish Federations of North America in Washington, DC this week.
A Chabad booth, sponsored by American Friends of Lubavitch, was a hub of activity.
Hundreds stopped by to get Friday Light kits – sponsored by Chabad of the West Coast, put on tefillin, daven Mincha with a minyan, and use the computer to access information on their nearest Chabad center, sponsored by Chabad.org.
Also available was information on the Friendship Circle from Rabbi Bentzi Groner.
American Friends of Lubavitch has been present at the General Assembly for many years and serves as a point of interaction between Chabad and other major Jewish organizations.
Seen at the assembly were Rabbi Levi Shemtov, founder of the Friendship Circle and finalist in the UJC Community Heroes contest, and Rabbi Dovid Eliezrie, shliach in Yorba Linda, California, who helps foster relations between Chabad-Lubavitch Centers and their local Jewish Federations.
Rabbi Mintz,
