With heightened demand for programming this summer, Camp Gan Israel Detroit is expanding its “Three Weeks” boys camp program to accommodate more campers. The camp will relocate this year to a large and beautiful campground in Walkerville, Michigan.
The “Three Weeks” program is in addition to the camp’s flagship four-week program in Kalkaska, Michigan. In the past, the “Three Weeks” program has been located in Oak Park, MI, but due to the unique circumstances present this summer, it is being relocated out of the city to proper campgrounds.
The new location boasts a vast array of on-site activities, including six nature trails, full sports fields, challenge courses, and a stunning lakefront with boating.
The mission of Camp Gan Israel is to give each camper an experience filled with the hallmark Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit that is synonymous with CGI Detroit, all within a fun and safe environment.
The talented and dedicated team of staff will be headed by head counselors Mendel Azimov (South Brunswick, NJ) and Levi Shemtov (West Bloomfield, MI), learning director Mendel Slavin (Caracus, Venezuela), and directed by Rabbi Levi and Mushky Dubov from Bloomfield Hills, MI.
The dates of the Three Week program are Wednesday, July 8 (Tammuz 16) – Tuesday, July 28 (Av 7). It will immediately be followed by the next session’s main camp program, located in Kalkaska, MI. Campers can join one or both of the camp’s programs.
Space is limited, and the added spaces are expected to fill quickly. For more information and to register, visit cgidetroit.com.
