Chabad music producer Zalman Goldstein has teamed up with legendary piano virtuoso Yaron Gershovsky, to produce a deeply inspiring solo piano album of all the traditional melodies of the Rebbeim that are sung at farbregnen at the conclusion of Rosh Hashana, Simchas Torah, Pesach, and Shavuos.
The album is entitled “Yom Tov Farbregen.”
“Many find themselves confused at the end of Yom Yov farbrengen over which songs are sung and how they go,” Goldstein said. “Even though I was privileged to produce well over 250 tracks of Chabad niggunim over the past 20 years, I haven’t recorded this set of niggunim of the Rebbeim as its own component — but due to demand it’s now here!”
With the instruction from the Rebbe to sing niggunim associated with his predecessors at the Rosh Hashana farbrengen, it has become a custom among chassidim to sing niggunim at the conclusion of Simchas Torah, Pesach and Shavuos as well. The niggunim Daled Bovos and Nye Zheritzi Chloptzi, both included in the new album, were also sung at the conclusion of all major Farbrengens and are customarily preceded by the Niggun Hachono, included in the album as well.
Goldstein, who is also an author (www.JewishLearningGroup.com), points to the Frierdiker Rebbe’s saying that when one sings a song, he connects with the soul of the person that composed or cherished the song “in an attachment deeper than achieved through intellect alone.”
Goldstein told COLlive.com he hopes the new album will benefit people as a learning tool and “as yet another demonstration of the sublime and beautiful musical heritage we have as Chabad chassidim.” The album, as well as his other 15 stellar albums of Chabad music, are popularly featured on iTunes (search: Zalman Goldstein).

… what I would LOVE would be a CD with people singing a capella (no instruments) with all the words provided in an accompanying booklet. (Yes, I know several of these titles have no words.) There is a group I heard once on a video of a farbrengen with R’ YY Jacobson, I think they are called Kapelye, they would be perfect for this.
