a great Networking Instructor
May 2, 2013 7:08 pm

My husband is the networking instructor for this course. He is Very knowledgeable and has lots of depth in his understanding. He is also a very gifted teacher, and is planning a lot of hands on. It will be a valuable tool for testing in cisco’s hard test which are very tough, but worth a lot to climb the totem poll as it has many levels in certification for future parnassa!

Comp Tia are wonderfull certifications in that you will learn a lot. The Network plus curriculum, particularly, is a great basis for the Cisco Track. Thing is that you can know Network plus inside and out but will not necessarily be able to setup and configure a network. Cisco is quite different in that you cannot pass those test with being able to do so. And employers know it. IMHO taking an online course for ccna/ccnp is not the way to do it. When you’re dealing with networking, there’s a lot of hands-on stuff that you just won’t get online.

Hi, in response to comment #6 which are program are you comparing what to? And can you please get clear on what you are stating. I am cOntemplating taking an online course for ccna and ccnp. Are thOse good certifications just to get my foot in the door?

is taught by professional technician as opposed to burnout who makes his money teaching and is geared toward Cisco CCNA certification which will get your foot in the door as an entry level tech somewhere. Entry level techs make somewhere between 25,000 and 45,000, but they are in a field where experience and continued education actually mean something in dollar terms, which is more than can be said for pretty much any other job that pays similarly. So if you have knack for tech and aren’t afraid of self-study — give it a thought.
