Campaign For Teacher’s Family

Following a nearly seven-year struggle with the dreaded disease, R’ Yehoshua Dashiff passed away in Elul at his home in Rehovot, Israel.

R’ Yehoshua is remembered by his many students, patients, and of course, his many friends in his community and among the Americans who knew him since before he made aliyah and afterwards. He was known for his unique combination of serious sincerity and depth about everything concerning Torah and mitzvos, together with an especially healthy sense of humor.

R’ Yehoshua came to Kfar Chabad in 1984 to study in Tomchei Tmimim. He later married his wife, Ariella. In 1989 the Dashiffs moved to Rehovot and have been an important part of the Chabad community there ever since.

R’ Yehoshua was very serious about education and had a unique teaching style, which was particularly appreciated by his many students at Beis Rivka in Kfar Chabad. In parallel, He developed skills as an expert trauma therapist and his practice gained wide recognition.

But … gone are the classes his Chassidus classes at Beis Rivka and in his community, gone is the trauma therapist who helped so many through their personal crises, gone is the mentor, gone is the husband, gone is the father. R’ Yehoshua is sorely missed by the many individuals whose lives were touched by him, but most of all, he is missed by his own family, may they be well. R’ Yehoshua’s wife and 10 children struggle to overcome the pain of their loss.
The economic burden of R’ Yehoshua’s illness, with the extensive treatments, the loss of work on his part and his wife’s, and the costs involved with the family’s recovery has left them debts and ongoing expenses far beyond their means.
