Camp Emunah has announced the expansion of its playing fields in time for summer 5784, thanks to the generosity of David and Eda Schottenstein in memory of Haddasah Lebovic obm.
“Our campers come upstate to escape city life and be outdoors in the beautiful Catskill mountains fresh air,” said Camp Director Rabbi Hanoch Hecht. “In camp they are running, playing and sporting in the fields in a kosher and safe way, and enables us to provide a true summer experience.”
The new playing fields will double the size of Camp Emunah’s Jr. camp sports fields.
“We are so grateful to David and Eda for this gift, as the playing fields are a huge part of the day for our campers,” said Rabbi Hecht.
Camp Emunah was founded in 1953 by Rabbi Jacob J. (“JJ”) and Rebbetzin Chave Hecht OBM, with guidance and direction from the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Emunah has welcomed many thousands of campers and has generations of alumni all over the world. We are also very careful to follow in the legacy of Rabbi J.J. and Reb Chave Hecht, of blessed memory, that summer camp vacation is not a luxury, but it is a necessity for every Jewish child.
What generous and kind people
Camp Emunah continues to be THE best Camp!
No other camp cares about its campers and their families like Emunah.
No other Camp gives as big scholarships, so happily!
No other Camp treats shluchim as well as Emunah!
Thank you for my many happy summers! And now my girls happy summers!
