The Sukkah at Chabad of Southgate, UK was full to capacity, with children rolling pizzas, and then making the appropriate brochos before eating them. Outside, children enjoyed activities such as a moon-bounce castle and a variety of exciting crafts.
The Kids Club was one of many activities coordinated by Chabad during sukkos, which included the mobile sukka visiting different locations in the area, sharing the mitzvah of lulav with hundreds of people, young and old.
Response from those visited was enthusiastic, such as the young teen who declared it “…so cool.”
As one thankful yearly participant put it, “It’s wonderful of you to come each year, and give us the opportunity to shake the lulav. It brings back memories of my youth . . . It’s nice to know that someone really cares. In a world where everyone is trying to take, it is refreshing to see Lubavitch, giving the chance to do the mitzvah and expecting nothing in return.”
The spirited dancing at the Hakofos on Shmini Atzeres and Simchas Torah, led by Shliach Rabbi Hirshel Kesselman, were followed by a full Yom Tov meal. The simcha and energy of Yom Tov will last long into the year ahead.
So great to see succesful shlichus instead of machloikis
