840 Montgomery
June 9, 2020 10:29 pm

We had also seen him at 840 Montgomery. My husband and I confronted him from our apartment window. He said he was there “visiting a friend”, he was carrying a big black garbage bag and since there werent packages for him to steal and were calling him thief multiple times he walked away while cursing us out …

And then what?
June 9, 2020 10:30 pm

If he’s caught and arrested, then what? He’ll just be out again.Looks like he needs mental health. If he’s put in a psychiatric hospital, he probably won’t be out on the streets so fast.

Really?

We should be happy he stole from us and beg him to please steal more ….and bring his friends to steal from us as well ….it will teach us a really valuable Torah lesson how we should be ashamed of our “whiteness” ….

Disgusting

At this point he’s probably figured out that there’s nothing anybody will do to him. So why even hide it.

It really starts to fill like a jungle. Those thieves know that also if they will be caught, nothing will happen to them. The opposite. Maybe they will even get some more benefits from the city in order to get to them not through the police… And we have to stay at home and watch those animals stealing our boxes that we bought with the money we are working so hard on. But, you know what, being a thief this days is not an easy job either. With this heat outside we have to thank them for the sacrifice and… Read more »

Now that he is on video, there will be marches with placards and outcries because we didnt let him get away. We denied him his privacy.
I hope he was reported and arrested.

Our dear local new yuppie neighbors are on a campaign to “ defund the police”. They prepare protest packages and are asking people protesting in Nostrand etc to come in their home if they need a rest . They are no better and are as much as threat to our children and future crown heights . Rent to a fellow yid ! Hachzakas hashechuna!

Here we are back to the bad old days.

Really?
June 10, 2020 9:31 am

This poor man just looks hungry, troubled and in need of help. And if he was one of our own we would likely view him as such and refer him to the appropriate community organisations / resources.

Stand Out Among The People
June 10, 2020 12:19 pm

Many people pride themselves to stand out among humanity often using a general narrative as being a chosen nation. Chosen for what, one can ask? If you are one to carry this pride I suggest you own it by being it, and your actions will prove it. Yes, there are those that will take advantage — this test will Serve as a reminder of you are and where you’re at. I invite you to be mindful that it isn’t difficult to be kind, generous, and sensitive when life feels good, and trouble is at a relative ease with safety, security,… Read more »

#1 there are many people of color in the jewish community so watch your tounge.
#2 It seems your packages get stolen alot soooi make a place where packages can be dropped off safely and that person can get it to you in person so theives will get bored of ch and pick a different place its really a simple idea find someone who is always home who can the packages to you when you are home and in a way of charity you give them a tip !

adapt
June 10, 2020 7:04 pm

if police care to arrest, he’d probably be back on street. and yes he looks a bit unhealthy, so unless someone individually or a societal group creates a place for him and similar folks to live in a controlled environment, we, who live in their environs must adapt. can’t leave doors or windows open. can’t leave anything of value unguarded. it’s somewhat a jungle (tho there are worse places), so behave accordingly. If i got upset because he caused me loss or damage, i might put out something seemingly enticing that had some type of payload. like when opened released… Read more »
