The Bais Shmuel Elite Daveners group enjoyed their annual bowling trip this past Thursday night, first hitting the lanes at Strike Ten Bowl before heading over to Dagan’s Pizza for pizza and fries.
The top daveners even got an exclusive limo ride as a reward for hard work and dedication in shul on Shabbos.
“We arrange trips like these to show the boys how good behavior leads to good things. Not that the boys need to be bribed, but the excitement engendered by a trip like this really carries over into the following weeks at shul,” explained Danny Illulian, who leads the minyan along with Lavy Kosofsky.
“All the credit goes to these kids, who really lead the entire shul with their enthusiastic behavior and participation,” added Kosofsky.
“In fact, every Shabbos parents approach me to compliment the boys on their superb conduct in shul.”
The boys wowed the crowd with their bowling, but really saved the best for last with a rousing bentching at the pizza shop, impressing the chefs and fellow patrons.
“They don’t call us elite for nothing,” concluded one star davener as he exited the sleek limo with a big smile. “I just beat my old high score of bowling.”
Thank you to all the parents involved, as well as to Moshe Pinson and the entire board of Bais Shmuel for all their assistance.
