There was another suspected hate crime in Crown Heights following a public outcry over black youths hitting Jews in a violent game called “Knockout.”
But this time, it was possibly more dangerous.
At approximately 4:30PM on Wednesday, a 10-year-old Jewish boy standing on Rutland and Brooklyn Avenue was hit by a rock, causing him minor injury.
It was thrown by two 10 or 11-year-old boys, one black and the second Hispanic, the NYPD 71st Precinct said.
The Jewish boy did not call the police until his father returned home from work, some 4 hours later.
Police said they will refer the incident to the Hate Crimes Task Force for investigation as a possible bias crime.
Jewish activists in the neighborhood called on the NYPD to put an end to the recent rise in anti Semitic attacks on Jews, pointing out that no valuables are stolen during these incidents.
