On the suggestion of the Choizer, Reb Yoel Kahan, Bochurim from across the world are joining together to learn all the 1563 Ma’amorim of the Rebbe by heart.
Organized jointly by Igud Yeshivos and the Va’ad Talmidei Hatmimim, Each Bochur is taking on to learn one Ma’amor by heart, by Hei Av – the Yarhrtzeit of the Arizal – in this manner all the Maamorim will be completed between all Bochurim.
A Duch with the names of all participants and the Maamor which they will learn will be read at the Ohel on Friday Beis Tamuz.
Rabbi Mendel Itzinger, director of Igud Yeshivos told COLlive: “Chasidus explains that there are varying levels of gifts. There are times that a gift is mandatory according to Halocha, (such as from a husband to his wife before Yom Tov), and there are times that a gift is for a specific reason (such as a birthday). Those gifts though certainly much appreciated, are nevertheless something the giver is expected to do.
“The most appreciated gift however, is the one that is given for no reason other than to show that the love and appreciation is constant.
“Imagine, when I will go in to the Ohel, and I will be able to say to the Rebbe, that despite it being twenty-four years since the Rebbe’s Histalkus, 1563 Bochurim learned one of the Rebbe’s Ma’amorim Ba’al Peh for no other reason than to bring Him Nachas!
“Could there be a greater gift than that”?
The Ma’amorim are almost all taken, so those still looking to join are encouraged to go to www.igudyeshivos.com/chalukasmaamorim before they are all complete.
