Now that’s a great way to end the year…
A group of Chabad bochurim spent the month of repentance in the serene environment of the wildlife of the Canadian province of Quebec.
The graduates of the Lubavitch Mesivta of Chicago spent the summer as counselors and learning teachers in various Lubavitch overnight camps. They will be learning this coming year at the Yeshivas Lubavitch of Manchester in England, beginning after the month of Tishrei.
Being that this year’s calendar was a late one, the bochurim were left with two remaining weeks in Elul before the Yomim Noraim, and decided to utilize this time for learning.
So until then, they needed a Yeshiva structure and found one in the Trout Lake area, hosted by Montreal jewelers and philanthropists R’ Yitzchok and Julie Gniwisch, Rabbi Pinny Gniwisch and their family and Rabbi Yosef Caytak and family of Ottawa.
The 17 bochurim learned in the local Beis Yisroel shul Perek Kirah of Maseches Shabbos with poskim and the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch.
As a result of their intense learning, the bochurim wrote and published a kovetz hearos on the Gemara they were learning. In addition to all this, the bochurim also went on Friday Mivtzoim in Mont Tremblant, a resort nearby.
