With great excitement, Bnos Menachem is proud to present “Portrait of Two Families”, a musical drama demonstrating the power of Jewish women, who despite dangerous risks, courageously forge ahead to ensure the existence of Torah abiding families and Jewish communities.
Taking place in late 19th century Germany, watch how one woman battles the threat of assimilation and the destruction wrought by the emerging Reform movement. In this moving production, one mother’s yearning for a life of Torah and mitzvas, leads her to take extreme measures to ensure the existence of a true Torah life. Under the warm encouragement of their frum neighbors, mother and daughter unite in clandestine meetings to practice mitzvas and firmly resolve to stay true to their heritage. Rising above human greed and fleeing from the entrapping of wealth and nobility, mother and daughter reveal the greatest treasure of all: the priceless beauty of a Torah true life.
The students of Bnos Menachem are proud to present Marcus Lehman’s “Portrait of Two Families”, as they prepare themselves for this most important role of being the עקרת הבית of the future, and ready themselves to be מקבל פני משיח צדקנו.
