A young boy entered the Family Dollar store on the corner of Lefferts and Kingston Avenues on Monday, August 11 and left his bicycle outside.
Upon exiting the store he spotted a male taking off with his bike. He immediately called Crown Heights Shmira requesting assistance. Shmira members arrived on the scene, and after getting a full description of the thief and his bike, they began a search.
One Shmira member spotted a teenager riding a bike matching the description provided. The victim was driven to the location and positively identified the perpetrator and the bike as belonging to him.
The thief was detained. Police arrived and placed the perpetrator under arrest.
A special thank you goes to 71st Precinct Lieutenant Worobey for always doing a wonderful job working with the community.
In case of an emergency always call Crown Heights Shmira @ 718-221-0303 24/7
Pulling onto sidewalks? What if a child had darted around the corner after a friend or someone on another bike or skates came down the hill? double park, park against traffic but not on the sidewalks
lolll 🙂
I don’t get it. Can somebody tell me what B.E.S.T stands for?
Bicycles-Eventually-Stolen-Today,?
SHEVAH MITZVAHS ANYONE?
THE BOSS TOLD US WHAT TO DO. CAN WE SAY WE ARE DOING IT AGGRESSIVELY?
weren’t there two bikes stolen both men rode out of the store
To 22: This is not a “thief” This is a human being of limited capacity who has been poorly trained in the basics, meaning the Noachide laws. He illustrates the saying “locks are not for thieves”. This lack of training means that others have to set the boundaries he is incapable of maintaining.
good job always can count on shmira
Hehe ahha! You are right about they shouldn’t but they are! Think before you write, what does that mean! Because we have to love each other and write nicely I love you, you love me it’s a happy family of all of the yidden and that means you , you love me and I love you!
I disagree with you 100%. What you’re saying has no logic and doesn’t make any sense.
Shmira what would Ch be with out you wonderful guys.
You guys are the real heroes .
Thank you 😊
The patrol were know and the we can count on
CLASSIC!
Chasidus teaches that we can learn a lot from a thief:
He prays for success
calculates and plans details -Hachonos
and when unsuccessful will try again until he succeeds.
You’ve gotta look at the facts youngsters are on the Internet maybe wrongly but you’ve gotta deal with things how they are not say how they should be
Youngsters should not be on the internet, at all.
So you should also say the same thing to people smoking on the streets…
Think before writing.
look at his shirt
I guess his best isin’t to good
Amazing!
Shmira does such a great job all the time.
It’s sooo good that they are finally sharing some of the work they do on a daily basis..
Looks like a grown man. When someone is fifteen, sixteen, seventeen they are more than old enough to take adult responsibility for their crimes. Any nursery school kid can tell you that stealing is a no-no.
Just a thought , why did the young lad not put a pad lock on his bike before entering the store. ( The thief still had no right to steal the bike )
Chabad Lubavitch of Flatbush would like to have guys like Shmira of Crown Heights. Amazing work!
I don’t think that the thief is a “young boy” as the caption under the picture states!
So nice that this didn’t turn into another one of those nobody- wins showdowns where citizens don’t call in the right parties to take care of such situations. Also nice that Shmira was able to take care of the situation so efficiently. Finally, thanks go to the 71st precinct for their collaborative co-operation. Now, let’s see what the judge does. Personally,I’d make the thief do community service with the Department of Sanitation, or something like that, for the duration of time it would have taken him to earn the money to buy the stolen bike. It might give him an… Read more »
Can we stop posting pictures of our community security personal /activist smoking cigarettes. 1) It looks extremely condescending especially at a crime scene. 2) It gives the wrong message to our youngsters.
Naftali! Great Job!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
That’s the way you dooooos it
Btw a big scene creates a noise and it lets future ganov in know that you can’t get away with this garbage
What would be without Shmira?
“I did my best”
Shmira in action
look at the theif’s shirt- ”I did my best.”
no u didn’t.
look at what his tshirt says!
How ironic, his shirt says “I did my best” obviously he did!
Shmira is incredible. You guys are truly amazing at what you do for our community. Thank you for always being here night and day.
Kol hakavod to Shmira
Very sad that we live among people whom have never been taught that stealing is wrong.
Usually happens when the kid is raised by his grandma, because the parents are AWOL.
