Jeweler Shimon Barber was the cause of celebration this week as a new Torah scroll was welcomed with song and dance.
The new Torah, the writing of which was begun this past Elul, is being dedicated in honor of Barber’s 50th birthday on Cheshvan 23.
The Torah was also written in memory of Barber’s late father R’ Yitzchak ben Eliyahu Barber.
The head of the Kollel Rabbi Yosef Heller was honored with the writing of the last letters in the Torah, along with the Rebbe’s secretaries Rabbi Leibel Groner, Rabbi Binyomin Klein and Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky.
Member of the Crown Heights Badatz Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba joined in the festive procession from Barber’s home on President Street to the Kollel on Union Street and Kingston Avenue.
