This week marked the celebration of the Bar Mitzvah of the son of the Rebbe’s Shuchim in Nigeria, Rabbi Yisrael and Chaya Uzan. This spiritually and uniquely significant event brought together friends and family from various regions in Nigeria and other African countries.
The event began with a deep spiritual experience, including prayers and Tehillim calling for peace in Israel and the release of captives. Michael Friedman, the Israeli ambassador to Nigeria, conveyed messages of hope and unity.
The joyous Chasidic celebration also included humanitarian projects such as building water wells and strengthening school institutions. The locals warmly welcomed the Shluchim with great joy and dancing.
In addition, at the event, there was a significant presence of other Shluchim, led by Rabbi Shlomo Bentolilla, Head Shliach of Central Africa.
This Bar Mitzvah will remain an important symbol, representing the cultural and spiritual unity of Jewish communities in Nigeria and around the world.
Wonderful and so upbeat! Such an important mitzvah.
I love all the detail that went into really recognising the bar mitzvah boy. I’m sure he feels so much joy in doing this mitzvah because of the way that everyone is rallying him up. Incredible of the parents to foster such important values. Kol hakavod
